Neptune's Steps

Petra finds newspaper clippings and a photo – hidden away in her dead mother’s attic – which suggest she had an Italian grandfather who was executed, more than fifty years earlier, as a Nazi collaborator.

A few weeks later, she decides to go to Sardinia (where he lived and died) with her college friends, Ginny and Audrey, to find out more. Their arrival, however, is beset with danger. There are threatening notes in reply to an advertisement which Petra places in the local newspaper, strangers watching in the night, and a brutal physical attack on Petra. 

And, when three friends go away together and one disappears, there are questions, lots of questions.
